the first time I got the error I had no definitions for those fields in my mapping file, it was only after I got the error that I decided to try making them transient. Maybe something else is wrong but that was my first guess was the little has... methods. I think I could do without those methods since I wrap the O.R. classes in my application anyway. Let me see if I can figure out how to turn on debugging for castor and see if I can get more details about the problem.
