Yeah, I figured.  He's going to go down the path of stepping through the
Castor code to analyze this, and if he can't figure it out, he's going
to build a standalone test case (I urged him not to spend too much time
stepping through it if he can't figure out what it's doing).  Hopefully
it won't take too long to come to a conclusion.
