If that's the case, the spring-oxm classes for Castor should be amended
to allow this valid usage of Castor XML. I happen to know one of the
main committers of that package personally, so I guess I could execise a
bit of influence and/or provide some patches to spring-oxm to introduce
required features.
Bear in mind that the spring-oxm guys think along the line of
integrating various XML data binders and making them accessible and
configurable from within a Spring container. As such, I would not assume
their focus to be on supporting any kind of feature right from the start.
