slow attachment upload speed via Futon

I installed CouchDB (0.9.0 from Debian squeeze) and tried to upload the 228 MB
attachment in the document over a 100 Mbit ethernet network via Futon. Upload 
speed was 1.5 MB/s only.
For my purposes it's (very) slowly.
At the same time, the download speed was 10.9 MB/s
This is a typical upload speed for the CouchDB or it's Futon limits?
