I was wondering if the team has a plan to enhance query features. V2 brought the query function with basic Mongo query operators but since then, there are no news about this. While CouchDB is not intended to follow MongoDB query system, it would be really great to extend to features that already exist in MongoDB (such as fuzzy or lookup). Right after the v2 release, I remember reading a blog post from Jan Lehnardt saying that an SQL query system to Mango query would be an idea of a next improvement (https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/afd87c27745141be1325203a2ea0610a0d2886a729658110b1de3ef6@%3Cdev.couchdb.apache.org%3E). Needless to say that it would be a game changing feature and would probably attract much more people to NoSQL (also known as Not Only SQL) and more specifically CouchDB.
