In Drill Explorer, I can execute command show tables.
it generates list of all tables.

However select on table gives namespace

That should work! Coming back to the show tables on hive schema, can you try it 
on sqlline?

If you are able to list tables, and describe tables, I'd expect you should be 
able to query tables.
