Hi, As far as I got it NiFi's primary operation is workflow management and execution (visually configurable transformation system) empathizing rapid workflow evolution. NiFi's support for routing is bit more data-driven, compared to flume's that's more infrastructure driven.
While on the other hand, Flume is transport system and has just enough support for routing and transformation and it's meant to sit there and do it's work fast. Transformations via interceptors are something that will hardly change as well as his routing - set and forget.
