Garbage Collection (gc command)

I left the Geode servers running for 8 days, Heap Usage showing ~ 6GB, when I 
ran ‘gc’ command of gfsh, Heap Usage now showing ~ 600MB.

Any recommendation/parameter which runs this automatically?
