Yes, hugepages are recommended for cache servers. Also, use -XX:+UseLargePages when starting the cache server JVM’s to instruct the JVM to request HugePages from Linux. In addition, we recommend against using transparent huge pages (THP), the use of which configures HugePages in a way that can hurt IO throughput.
