Thanks for your reply. Yeah, that would be an option. In my case I want to run the Gradle build on a Continuous Integration server so everybody that has access to the login could read the plain text password. Maybe I should just make sure all other users don't have a read file permission on gradle.properties then. Nevertheless, if someone hacks into the system he/she could easily steal the password.
