Yes, Cookbook has its own place in Gradle wiki and can be very helpful as well. But it needs to be maintained separately and can become outdated when libraries evolve and versions change.
Real build files of real projects contain 100% working code rather than copy/pasted examples and therefore can be another source of a valuable learning experience.
