Hi:
I tried and was succesfull in changing etc/hosts. I shutdown and re-started and 
get the same error.

I have checked http://wiki.apache.org/hadoop/ConnectionRefused but there is no 
fix to the problem rather it seems to be a Ubuntu network problem. I have many 
times killed nanenode/datanode/secondary data note, shutdown and restarted, but 
this error still appears. The only way seems to be re-installing hadoop. Please 
advise or refer.
