This benchmarking study demonstrates some conclusions.

BT is a problem that requires the processing of the small number of
large messages. This will depend on how fast the network is. Smart
*scheduling* is also important. And, LU is a problem that requires the
processing of many small messages. LU performance will depend on how
efficiently messages are handled. I guess Hama BSP will perform better
than MPI in both cases. :-)
