Hi Ted, Generated of jar file from the same code and submitted to spark-submit in yarn-cluster mode. It went through fine, and I see kafka data in hbase.
Not sure what is the exact issue with spark-shell. Here is the spark-submit. spark-submit --class TestHbaseSpark --deploy-mode cluster --master yarn-cluster --jars /home/sbhavanari/kafka_2.10-0.8.0.jar,/home/sbhavanari/spark-streaming-kafka_2.10-1.2.0.jar,/usr/hdp/2.2.4.2-2/kafka/libs/metrics-core-2.2.0.jar,/home/sbhavanari/zkclient-0.1.0.jar,/usr/hdp/2.2.4.2-2/hbase/lib/hbase-common-0.98.4.2.2.4.2-2-hadoop2.jar,/usr/hdp/2.2.4.2-2/hbase/lib/hbase-server-0.98.4.2.2.4.2-2-hadoop2.jar,/usr/hdp/2.2.4.2-2/hbase/lib/hbase-client-0.98.4.2.2.4.2-2-hadoop2.jar,/usr/hdp/2.2.4.2-2/hbase/lib/hbase-protocol-0.98.4.2.2.4.2-2-hadoop2.jar,/usr/hdp/2.2.4.2-2/hbase/lib/htrace-core-2.04.jar,/usr/hdp/2.2.4.2-2/hbase/lib/guava-12.0.1.jar,/usr/hdp/2.2.4.2-2/hbase/lib/hbase-hadoop-compat-0.98.4.2.2.4.2-2-hadoop2.jar,/usr/hdp/2.2.4.2-2/hadoop/hadoop-common-2.6.0.2.2.4.2-2.jar testhbasespark_2.10-0.0.1.jar Thanks, Siva.
