Passing conf params to hbase|hadoop e.g. hbase.mapreduce.scan.row.start

Hi,


To pass some TableInputFormat params to hbase Export command, we either need to 
edit/duplicate an existing hbase-site.conf and give its location with -conf 
param. Is there also another way to pass directly inline such conf params, e.g. 
-Chbase.mapreduce.scan.row.start=xx ?
