Ignite - Data Distribution and Rebalancing

Hi Folks:
I just wanted to understand how does ignite cache distribute data ?  Is there a 
way to configure partitions and limit the number of partitions ?
Also, from what I understand, rebalancing occurs when a node joins/leaves the 
cluster ?  Can rebalancing be triggered via an api ?  Can the rebalancing of 
data be customized ?
