In general, we try to be very much driven by user demand. The commit activity is reported to the JBehave SCM list: http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.java.jbehave.scm As for the downloads, I'm sure if Codehaus has a way to monitor it. Also, even if it did, it may not be too significant given that a lot of people use Maven to pull down the artifacts from Central repo, which is automatically synched with the Codehaus repository.
