Hi Brian, You can use whichever symbols you prefer in the matching pattern of the annotation of your step, e.g. [] or even nothing at all.
Just be aware that currently in the StepCreator the <> are assumed to highlight parameter values in the output (e.g. colour-coding in the HTML). We can easily make these configurable. Please raise a Jira issue for it.
