I have made this work using a PostgreSQL database, so it appears to be something amiss with my Oracle 10g database. Also of interest is that I can read data from the Oracle database tables using this managed connection TranQL DataSource, but writing to the tables still doesn't work, even though no exceptions are thrown and the transaction commits without a rollback.
