I will try to get you a Junit example... One of the first things the JUnit
does in it's setUp() is begin a transaction, and then in the tearDown()  if
the transaction is not completed it does a rollback. Would this be
considered the UserTransaction?
    
    protected void setUp() throws Exception {
        super.setUp();
         setTransactionManager((PlatformTransactionManager)
                getTestBean("transactionManager"));

         beginTransaction();
    }
    
    protected void tearDown() throws Exception {
        super.tearDown();
        if (!isTransactionCompleted()) {
            rollbackTransaction();
        }
    }
