Hi,

To enhance usability of tool NEC wants to propose a plug-in for Jmeter, that
will extract data from previous request and fill that data in next request.

Details:
In some web applications, Users are required to take some data from previous
response which will be input for new request. This Activity can be done with
the help of "Regular Expression Extractor".

How it works:
It save values based on user defined rules and saves in variable.
This variable is later used in sending that data in upcoming requests.

Pain Point/Challenges :

1. Applying rule for saving data in variable is really effort taking.

2. Often data is not available in response body every time, user needs to
find whether its available in body or header or API response or subsequent
requests. User has to find it manually.

3. It works on hit and try.

Available workarounds:
There are some available work around in market to overcome the situation like
Blazemeter and Jcorreclate.
But user has to upload their scripts to these websites.

But every organization will not be interested to share their API
request/Response data with third party.

Proposal :
NEC wants to deploy a plug-in that will work within Jmeter to overcome with
this uneasiness.

Benefits:
Scripting size will reduce by 80%
Human error chances will reduced.
Will make product more user interactive.
Will increase ease of use interactivity.

Query:
Will apache be interested to take this approach?

Indu Gupta
