Apart from the sources there are other places, where you might be able

In the linked issue above, the solution was to disable undo for JMeter,
which is a pity, but if someone has the knowledge to work on that part,
feel welcome.

If you still want to disable the splash screen, there is a patch
referenced, that should do that.
