Oh My Goodness! Thank You Felix- Wow, I never expected that. Although I DO know how those spaces got there, originally these base64url's had been padded with "=", which needed to be removed. Unknowingly, I used tr to change those = to spaces, which I've done many times in the past for other scripts). Since it was the only "field" I assumed it would be OK, obviously it wasn't this time.
