Kurt, We are quick learners. I understand your concern -- but you are not suggesting much since you would like to take us the responsibility for our own actions.
The concern is -- when domain name is "append"ed, the key will become unique, which is good! :) We know. Sometimes, we have to do things that meet the purpose of the moment -- that was all. We know, we mostly will come back to our code and "append" domain names anyway, and that will be in future. Thank you. When I say helpful, I mean it, and I appreciate it. And I leave it at that. Regarding the "absence" of the domain name in the key (e.g. "absence" of ".com"), the following SOAP request works, by the way, against jUDDI v3.1.0 !! This soap request is a success! <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:urn="urn:uddi-org:api_v3" xmlns:xd="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#"> <soapenv:Header/> <soapenv:Body> <urn:save_tModel> <!--Optional:--> <urn:authInfo>authtoken:9e72f8a4-8061-4ba3-b292-c19c5f9acd2b</urn:authInfo> <!--1 or more repetitions:--> <urn:tModel tModelKey="uddi:MyOrg-5AM:urn:uid:2.16.840.1.113883.3.596" deleted="0"> <urn:name xml:lang="en">MyOrg-5AM:urn:uid:2.16.840.1.113883.3.596 TModel Key</urn:name> <!--Zero or more repetitions:--> <urn:description xml:lang="en">Description of MyOrg-5AM:urn:uid:2.16.840.1.113883.3.596 TModel Key</urn:description> </urn:tModel> </urn:save_tModel> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> thank you, Cli ----- Original Message ----- From: Kurt T Stam To: Computer Learning Inst Cc: "[email protected]" Sent: Wednesday, September 21, 2011 9:50 AM Subject: Re: Ways to generate keys without domain name appended Hi Cli, Have you read any of my replies? I have my doubts.. If you don't want to use the domain you can not supply a key and the UDDI server will generate one. However I would recommend reading up on UDDIv3 style keys. --Kurt On 9/21/11 12:17 AM, Cli wrote: > Hello! > > Is it possible to generate keys without domain names appended to them? > > For example - > > We generate keys such as "uddi:mydomain.com:in:ie:hcid". > > We "want to" generate keys such as "uddi:mydomain:in:ie:hcid" [Are such keys > possible to generate in jUDDI?] > > Thank you. > > Cli >
