If by install, you mean drop into the deploy folder or install from the local filesystem of a node, it won't work: the nodes has to share a location. For instance, the nodes have to use a shared Maven repository (Archiva, Nexus, Cave, ...).

Please, read the user guide, it's explained.

Ok using that static IP method seems to have worked:

admin@NextGate ()> cluster:node-list

-------------------------------------------------
x | 192.168.169.13:5701 | 192.168.169.13 | 5701
   | 192.168.172.219:5701 | 192.168.172.219 | 5701
admin@NextGate ()> cluster:node-ping 192.168.172.219:5701
PING 192.168.172.219:5701

from 2: req=192.168.172.219:5701 time=5 ms
from 3: req=192.168.172.219:5701 time=8 ms

However, I installed a bundle on Win VM and it installed successfully but
not on the Mac host:

20140625 13:00:55.909 [ERROR] pool-13-thread-6 |

install bundle [com.mysql.jdbc, 5.1.29]/org.osgi.framework.BundleException:
Unable to cache bundle:
file:\c:\downloads\mysql-connector-java-5.1.29-bin.jar.

Are file installs like above expected to replicate to other nodes in
cluster???
