I have checked out Karaf's master branch and built it without any issues.
Unfortunately, I have some trouble with the command line. Have a look please:

Karaf was built using "mvn clean install". The issue occurs on Windows (Windows
7) and Linux (Ubuntu 16.04.). It seems to be a problem with the encoding.
Can someone help me to fix the issue?
