Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
This is very much a bug and it seems that we have debug on by default via
gateway-site.xml with:

<property>

    <name>sun.security.krb5.debug</name>

    <value>true</value>

    <description>Boolean flag indicating whether to enable debug messages
for krb5 authentication</description>

</property>

Would you be able to file a JIRA for this?

It is something that I would like to get into the next release (0.10.0).
