You should extract them first and place the contained .jar files in
WEB-INF/lib.

this is the folder structure you mentioned <lenya-webapp>/WEB-INF/lib
directory.
without extracting i placed the javamail and java activation framework
zip files in that folder structure.. i made changes to the cocoon.xconf
file too . its building and running properly but it is not showing the
exception when i am sending the mail as
HTTP ERROR: 500
javax/mail/MessagingException
RequestURI=/default/authoring/index.html

help me sir .... what to do what is the solution for this
