I am very new to Lenya and CMS all together. We had a couple
questions and
would appreciate any help we can get. The questions we have are as
follows:
1. Is it possible to have multiple WYISIWIG editable areas on a page?
In principle yes. As solprovider explained, the possibilities depend
on the editor.
In most scenarios, it is desirable to have multiple editable areas but
only one editor-toolbar/menu.
E.g.: a main area for text and images - and a sidebar (some folks
call it «related content» ;-)).
BXE (bitflux): possible
TinyMCE: it is possible to define more that one editable area - but
IIUC that would lead to toolbar duplication (not so practical).
Fck-editor I don't know.
In firedocs (a very promising future editor (firedocs.org)): possible
In one of our publications we have boxes at the side that can be
inserted via tinymce using floats.
It looks like a sidebar but it's in fact one editable area.
See www.minimax.ch
2. Can you specify the size of the editable area and how does that
work?
That's possible for the none-full-browser-windows breed of editors
(e.g. tinymce or fck-editor).
In tinymce there is a configuration option for the size of the
editable area.
3. Can lenya handle search and forms submission, basically having
dynamic
apps within a site?
You can use cocoon forms for that matter.
Things of course depend on what kind of app you'd like to program -
but I'd say the framework is quite flexible.
Mmh - I should have asked before... you're using lenya 2.x, right?
Best regards
Jürgen
