Hmm, since I know you are using ws, are you sure that you close all threads that are handling the communication with the back end? It seems a problem of not closing open threads. Another possibility is that you simply open too many threads for getting the information of a page. You can use something like http://www.wireshark.org to debug the traffic and eclipse to debug the java threads. You just need to enable the jda debug in tomcat that you then can connect.
