a) Use the XML in pipelines – easy:
<map:generate src="http://…"/>
I have tried this but i did not get anything. I have checked the logs as
well and i can not see any exception.
May be i am missing something, will recheck and try to debug.
Works fine for me. Did you make sure that the remote XML is accessible,
i.e. not protected by HTTP or digest auth? What does the generator
return, only an empty XML? Maybe the error is somewhere else, i.e. the
pipeline is not executed?

I want to read an XML which is a part of some other application. I have
the HTTP URL for the XML document.
What i want to achieve here is -- Read the XML and want to add the
content to my own application.
what exactly do you want to achieve?
a) Use the XML in pipelines – easy:
<map:generate src="http://…"/>
b) Use the XML as if it was a Lenya document:
For this purpose I would consider creating a custom resource type
which stores only the external URI and includes the content using the
Cocoon include transformer.
