Hi!

Turns out it had nothing to do with the browser, but with the credentials of the current user, or rather with a bug in the scheduled publishing code (see r16652). Oh well, nevermind...

Bye,

Andreas

Hi!

I have a strange problem with n.n.blog and IE6 in a staging/live setup:

1: User creates a new article on the staging server, approves it

2: Article gets published and is available in all browsers, except for the user's IE6, i.e. it is not shown in the index and when you try to access it with the direct link, you get a 404 error from the server.

The strange thing is now that I cannot reproduce this on my own IE6. When I access the article from my IE, I get the following entry in Apache's log:

IP - - [18/Jun/2008:18:20:24 +0200] "GET /news/view/url.html HTTP/1.1" 304 - "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)"

And this is what the user gets:

IP - - [18/Jun/2008:18:00:08 +0200] "GET /news/view/url.html HTTP/1.0" 404 759 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)"

The only difference I can see right now is that the user seems to use HTTP 1.0 instead of 1.1, but what is strange is that all the other articles in the same topic display normally for the user. I had this problem a few times and mostly, it went away on its own after a while, but I couldn't really say why.

Does anybody have an idea what could cause this, or better yet, how to fix it?

Bye,

Andreas
