Hi Todd, yeah, that is certainly a feature to add to the Neo Shell. Otherwise, Marko has just been finishing neo-integration for Gremlin, http://gremlin.tinkerpop.com which is treating realtionships as first class citizens and will show you properties, http://wiki.github.com/tinkerpop/gremlin/basic-graph-traversals. But it is a bit rough and will require compilation etc. and might not run right now.
