Hi Peter,
If you expand the tree for "Maven Optional Components" you will see
"Maven SCM Handler for Subclipse (Optional)". Uncheck that and "Maven
Optional Components" will install. Alternatively, you can add the
Subclipse update site "http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.4.x/".
Similarly, if you expand the tree for "Maven Project Configurators"
you will see "Maven Integration for AJDT (Optional)", uncheck this if
you don't need AspectJ. Alternatively, you can add the AspectJ update
site "http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/34/update/".
Hope this helps, let me know if you are still having trouble.

Hi Rich,
Thanks for your reply.
The documentation is a bit out of date, there is no "Select
Required" in Eclipse 3.4 and later. You just need to add the update
site, select the components you want and hit "Install...".
Hmm, but that fails with a message stating that certain dependencies
cannot be resolved (see below for the exact message). So I guess i'm
no looking for a way to let eclipse find out what needs to be
updated in order to match the required dependencies.... Any idea?
Which components are you installing? Attempting to install
Subclispe or AspectJ integration without the necessary
prerequisites will result in an error message like the one you got.
Neither of those, just the stuff from the "Maven Integration for
Eclipse Update Site". This contains three parts:
1. "maven integration"
2. "maven optional components"
3. "maven project configurators"
Yesterday i tried to install them in one go, that failed. I now
tried them separately: the first succeeds.
The second fails with the message "Cannot find a solution satisfying
the following requirements Match[requiredCapability:
org.eclipse.equinox.p2.iu/org.eclipse.swt.carbon.macosx/
[3.4.1.v3452b,3.4.1.v3452b]]."
The third fails with the same message.
It's a bit weird that the error messages are now different, once i
installed part (1).
Regards,
Peter
These can be found at the following update sites:
http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.4.x/

Hi,
I must be stupid, but would appreciate it if you would still help
me... ;-)
I'm not able to install m2eclipse in Eclipse (3.4.1).
I tried to follow the directions on the wiki:
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/M2ECLIPSE/Installation+Requirements
It says "and click on "Add Required" button to add required
dependencies"
but i can't find an "Add Required" button.
Trying to install the Maven stuff in the "Software updates and Add-
ons" dialog, returns the wonderfull message
"Cannot find a solution satisfying the following requirements
Match[requiredCapability: org.eclipse.equinox.p2.iu/org.eclipse.ui/
[3.4.2.M20090204-0800,3.4.2.M20090204-0800]]."
Well, i'm not having to find these updates manually, do i???
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Peter
