Sharepoint path metadata

Anyone have a real example using this?  The docs are very confusing as to what 
this is for.
 
I would like to have the path to the document in a metadata variable called 
folderpath, but my sharepoint doesn't have folderpath.  So I'd like to take the 
path I am passing in as my query to sharepoint, append the docs location (if in 
sub folders) and then send that to the output connector as the folderpath 
variable.  Is this possible?
