Subject: REST service for MaaS

Hello all,

I'm going through the MaaS documentation and I see that the example is based on
the Python / Flask REST service. I was wondering what was used in a production
context by you all. Is Python / Flask a good choice in case of heavy load? Does
some of you use other framework, like Scala Play for example?

We have tried with Python Flask in our development environment but haven't
tested on production environment. I guess MAAS just requires a command that
launches the REST application and I believe it is not dependent on which
framework we use.

My goal is to use Spark models, learning is made in batch mode and I want to
perform prediction "on demand" through the MaaS framework. Does it make sense?

As per my understanding the usecase mentioned is the best way of using MAAS. We
can have our different spark models trained in batchmode continuously and
update the model which is used for predictions real-time. The limitation we
faced with MAAS is each model will support only default endpoint (I remember it
is "apply") and other custom endpoints doesnot work querying from Stellar.

Thanks,

Stéphane
