Seeing as that it's unlikely the machine is going to be slashdotted... 
I've ran a setup like this (with Midgard 1.1, admittedly, but I don't
think Midgard is inherently more taxing now) on a 486/66 with 16 megs
of ram. A laptop, no less (think small, slow disk).
