My installs do the same thing. I have a potato CD which I use to
install, then do a dist-upgrade to woody, see if things work, then to
sid. I nuked the disk so I don't have traces of midgard left, but I
don't think these should be able to have these effects. I can't test
it right now as I'm not home (Iris has this weird idea of something
called 'weekend' in which one should not work but go visit relatives.
Which, fortunately, also have cable so I can still read mail).
