No, I did not get any cookies from the host relating to Aegir. This is what puzzles me. Cookies works for everywhere else, so I do not understand why Aegir fails on this.
The whole midgard setup is on my laptop and isn't available externally, apologies for that. I set up a hostname in /etc/hosts and mapped it to 127.0.0.2 and am running the whole thing against that. It works for Midgard and Asgard, just not for Aegir.
I really think Aegir should report the exact errormessage from the auth module somewhere (even if just as a comment in the login page HTML) whenever there is an authentication error.
That would be incredibly handy. I don't know if it is feasible or not,
but some/any indication on what went wrong would probably save a few
questions in here.
One thing you could try is to install the latest version of the auth module from http://authentication.nemein.net/ (I also think Aegir should just list the auth module as prerequisite rather than have it included in the main package, since this has caused problems before with aegir overwriting a newer auth module with an old one, causing some of the old bugs [most which are related to cookie handling] reappear)
