two options:

1) edit src/default.h in the source directory of midgard-lib to reflect
   the database host, recompile and install midgard-lib.
2) install midgard-lib (unchanged) en repligard on the database server,
   and do you import/export stuff on the database server.

The second option may be more attractive for you, as you don't need to
change more stuff on your LS/DS.

Contrary to what I said earlier, you may want to file a feature request
for a host-entry in the repligard configuration.
