This discussion was for MidCOM, no need to do
anything with the Midgard core (or php) libs.
I think I'm missing the point here...?

Obviously one could use $article->revised too...

We have one client intranet with a feature "last updated",
which is a regular Midgard script that particularily uses
the revised field. BTW: this feature also allows users to
select the range for update (i.e. last updates in past
one week, two weeks, one month, etc.).
