That is difficult. The reindex run must be done on-site, not in AIS, so the
privilege checks are not neccessarily relevant (e.g. if using AIS with basic
auth). Also, there is no "indexer toolbar" in the sense of the word.
midcom.helper.search is just an indexer front end, it does not have knowledege
about the actual indexer.

I actually want to keep the midcom.helper.search UI clean of such things, for
ease of use for the casual user. These URL methods should be replaced by an
control panel like application for midcom AIS in the future.

Under normal circumstances, a reindex should not be neccessary, as the index is
kept up-to-date during runtime. With Nathan Syntronics, I didn't have to do a
reindex ever since I created the index in the first place. And I don't know of
any subsequent reindex runs on M-P.org either. Of course, software upgrades are
not counted here.

The only place were we currently need regular reindexing is where we support
legacy stuff which is indexed from inside midcom but not maintained outside
(Aegir Image Popup f.x.).

BTW: Please do a bit of sensible quoting, I was stumbling on your mail thinking
"Why was my mail sent twice, and why is it so garbled?"...

Live long and Prosper!
