We decided to support the maven-way of defining variables. But there are more db-specific ways to define them, so maybe we should figure out a way to support such syntax as well. The replacement variables are in a format like "$$foobar." instead of "${foobar}". I could write a plugin to translate from one format to the other, but I haven't yet decided which would make more sense.
