Thanks for your aspectj-maven-plugin project, we quite literally use it
by the hour, and we appreciate your hard work.
That having been said, we commonly experience the frustrating
StackOverflow issue that has been exhaustively documented as part of a
hastily-released aspectjrt-1.6.7:

As noted in the first link, the issue has been resolved in version
1.6.8. We noticed you have an open issue for this upgrade on your jira
page, we would love to hear back from you as to when you plan on
incorporating the latest build of aspectjrt (1.6.8+) in your plugin.
