Not "as well", but "instead"! :-)

Seriously, if you don't have an already working XMLBeans solution just
switch to e.g. JAXB right away. There is no development around
XMLBeans (and hasn't been for years, the latest release was two years
ago). It's a dead end IMO.

That being said, I see that there is a XMLBeans v2.5.0 available but
the plugin uses v2.4.0. I seriously doubt though that the encoding
support has been added, but I haven't checked.
