Walter,

I burned with ISO Recorder, a shell extension for Win XP http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

I've been comparing md5 sums for individual files against a list contained in a text file in the root of the CD.

An md5 for the iso would be very much quicker, but so far I've not managed to find one.

Good thought anyway. Much obliged :)

Ian

Many thanks Daniel. You pc-tools tip saved a lot of time. Couldn't find any probs. so back to square one. Will probably wait until the next release and try again.

Your problem sounds like you just "copied" the .iso file to the disk rather than burned it's image in place. When you "explore" your burned CD from WindowsXP, does it have a normal filesystem that you can explore and drill down into, or is it a single file?

The md5 check just confimed that your ISO was downloaded fine. It does not confirm that you are burning the image correctly.
