I made some changes in rev. 495898 (see http://tinyurl.com/2fd5yu)

I agree that IE reports an error on the line
    elem.replaceChild(txt, elem.firstChild);
of the else block

I will have a look at it but yes having data as Ray suggested would be
very helpful to  accelerate our review of the problem...
Perhaps even easier using common data. If you want you can use my demo
server at http://tinyurl.com/yv8r8n
Its DB is not resetted every day as on the official demo server
