There is surely a problem in your catalog and/or categories or since I succeed creating the same product without creating a new
catalog or category.
Maybe you can send us more informations. Anyway except if you want to use OLAP
you can neglect this error message in a 1st approach.

I have created a new catalog and categories as described in
http://docs.ofbiz.org/display/OFBENDUSER/Apache+OFBiz+Business+Setup+Guide
When creating a product as described in the above doc (id = "not specified",
internal name = "Test Product", product type = "service", UPS/USPS not
specified) I get the following error:
