In fact I was waiting to do the announcement because we are still waiting for responses from others and there are some technical steps that needs to be done to grant commit rights etc. I guess that Pierre is getting notifications for new account requests to root but they are not public (Pierre is probably subscribed to one of the ASF lists that get the notification, like comdev) so yeah, it would be better to wait for the announcements.
