I have been monitoring this group for months now, as I have founded a non-profit interested in fundamentally changing the nature of business application, called Sharealedger.org <http://sharealedger.org/>. The premise is that if the shared ledger idea (which came from blockchain, but is not dependent upon blockchain technologies) were ubiquitous, it could fundamentally reduce costs of record keeping, expand use to even the poorest merchants in the world who own cell phones, and resources for use on other societal problems.
